PM Modi inaugurates first vertical lift sea bridge New Pamban, new Rameswaram-Chennai train service
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated India's first vertical-lift sea bridge, the New Pamban. The project worth ₹700 crore and 2.08-km long also features a 17m-lift span for ships and corrosion-resistant tech, replacing the century-old British-era structure. He also flagged off the Rameswaram-Tambaram (Chennai) train service, which marks a leap in connecting India’s coasts.
