Hyderabad: As part of expanding the Community CCTV camera network across the jurisdiction, Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu has inaugurated 860 surveillance cameras under the LB Nagar zone here on Saturday.
Officials said the project was completed at a cost of Rs 79.3 lakh. These cameras would further be connected to the Command and Control Centre, where a dedicated team will monitor them.
The cameras have been installed at strategic locations covering entry and exit points, main routes and crime-prone areas of the region. They will be addition to the existing 6,087 community surveillance cameras and 71,693 ‘Nenu Saitham’ cameras installed under the zone limits.
The commissioner appreciated the LB Nagar zone officials and donors for taking the initiative to install CCTV cameras and urged citizens to support installation of more cameras for a safer Rachakonda.
