Siddipet: The Siddipet police nabbed a three-member gang and seized 35 rounds of ammunition, one pistol, a dummy pistol and five pepper spray bottles, with which they were allegedly planning to loot houses and rob women of their ornaments at gunpoint.
According to the police, the trio bought the arms and ammunition from Bihar, and had test-fired the pistol in a forest area in Jawahar Nagar. The accused were MD Ethiaz, a native of Ramayampet in Medak, MD Hidyath Ali, a resident of Defence Colony in Secunderabad and Maddur Lalu, a resident of Medchel Malkajigiri. The three had made some futile attempts to loot houses in the Secunderabad area, police said, adding that since those attempts failed, they decided to focus on rural areas.
However, when they were moving suspiciously in Wargal, the Gouraram police apprehended Ethiaz and Ali and seized the weapons on Sunday evening. Lalu was taken into custody on Monday. The accused were also in possession of some fake Aadhar cards, police said.
