AGRA: Police have announced a bounty of Rs 10,000 each on the wife and father-in-law of IT professional Manav Sharma, 30, who allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Agra on Feb 24.
Sadar ACP Vinayak Bhosale said, "We have issued a reward of Rs 10,000 each on Manav Sharma's wife Nikita Sharma and father-in-law Nipendra Sharma. The reward on Manav's wife was issued on Tuesday, while the same was issued against his father on Wednesday. The court has already issued a non-bailable warrant against the duo."
"Police teams have conducted raids at several locations in pursuit of the father-daughter duo, facing abetment of suicide case filed by Manav's father at Sadar Bazar police station," Bhosale.
On March 13, the mother-in-law and sister-in-law were held after Allahabad HC declined to intervene in the FIR filed against his wife and her family. His wife, Nikita Sharma, the prime accused, remains at large.
On Feb 24, Manav, a manager at an IT major in Mumbai, was found dead at his Agra residence. Prior to his death, he purportedly recorded a seven-minute video, wherein he accused his wife of infidelity and apologised to his parents, saying, "Please, someone should talk about men. They become very lonely."
After a complaint by Manav's father, Narendra Sharma, a retired air force officer, a case was filed against his wife and in-laws under BNS section 108 (abetment of suicide).
