Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's daughter Aaradhya moves High court over misleading content; court issues notices to Google and other online platforms

Aaradhya Bachchan has moved the Delhi High Court to remove misleading online content about her. As per Bar and Bench, the court has issued a notice in response to her plea for a summary judgment against the spread of false information about the 13-year-old.
Legal notices have been sent to Google, Bollywood Times, and other platforms. The next hearing is on March 17. Earlier, in April 2023, the Delhi High Court ordered Google to remove false videos that wrongly claimed Aaradhya was ‘critically ill’ or had passed away.


In 2023, Justice C Hari Shankar strongly criticized the spread of such content, saying every child deserves dignity and respect. He stated that sharing false information about a minor’s health is “completely unacceptable in law.”

The court told Google to share details of those who uploaded the content and to quickly remove any future misleading videos. It also asked the central government to block such material and reminded Google to follow the legal rules.
The court also issued summons on the lawsuit to the YouTube channels, including "Bollywood Time", "Bolly Pakora", "Bolly Samosa", "Bollywood Shine" and others, saying a prima facie case was made out for grant of interim relief to prevent further prejudice.
The plaintiffs alleged there were certain "absolutely false" videos on YouTube about her health and private life that portrayed the Bachchan family name in bad light as the name itself was "protectable as a trademark" and "epitomised highest of virtues".
The videos violated the minor's privacy and the sole purpose behind the "distasteful content" was to "create shock value, gain overnight popularity" and profit, it said.
Abhishek and Aishwarya have always been very clear about keeping their private life private and have always discouraged unwanted attention towards their daughter and family.
The trio were last spotted making a joint appearance at Aaradhya's school function in which she played the leading role in a play that also featured fellow star-kid AbRam Khan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan.
