Laxmi Narayan Tripathi slams people criticising Mamta Kulkarni's appointment as Mahamandaleshwar: 'Kya Mamta Islam qubool karti...'

Mamta Kulkarni created a huge stir when she was declared Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akkada and then she was named of Shri Yamai Mamta Nandgiri. However, many people questioned her appointment as the Mahamandaleshwar and she was worthy of it. Now Mahandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi has slammed those criticising the actress.
She opened up on Shubhankar Mishra's podcast and expressed her opinion on this controversy. According to Lakshmi, this matter was unnecessarily blown out of proportion and it was said that if she had given up being a Sadhvi and embraced Islam, then what would the people who were creating controversy have done?
Tripathi said, "When she had kept herself away from the mainstream society for 23 years, she was in touch with me for two and a half to three years. She was telling me all about her traditions. She was also initiated by the Swami of Juna Akhara. When she came to Kumbh, we talked, the next day was Friday so she said, 'isse accha kya hoga ke ek ardhnareshwar mera patta abhishek kare aur mujhe mahamandaleshwar banaaye. Aur main sanatan dharm mein apne jeevan ko purn roop se samarpit karna chahti hu. Toh unka vichaar accha tha. Koi agar sanatan dharm mein aana chahta ho, aur kuch karna chahta ho toh hum kaise uska tiraskaar karein."
She also reflected on the cases on Mamta and her name involved with Abu Salem and said, "We knew everything. But all her cases are over. Her name was cleared. All the red corners were removed. So why should we despise the one who has come to take refuge in Sanatan Dharma. Yehi Mamta ji Islam qubool karti ya hajj madina kar aati toh kya yeh sanatani joh bol rahe hai, woh kuch kar sakte the Kal aap bhi dharm mein aana chaaho aur controversy ho jaaye toh woh galat baat hai na? (If this Mamta ji had accepted Islam and had gone to Haj-Medina, then how could these Sanatanis have opposed her so much?)'
She revealed that they did not accept Mamta's resignation. She gave her resignation under pressure. "Usko lagaa ke mere Guru ko itni takleef ho rahi hai is controversy ke kaaran toh main istefa dedu but humne nahi liya," added Tripathi.
