Sant Siyaram Baba, a revered spiritual leader and ascetic from Madhya Pradesh, who passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 94 after a period of illness. According to reports, Baba breathed his last at 6:10 AM at the Bhattyan village Ashram near the Narmada coast.
Siyaram Baba's last rites were performed at 4 PM yesterday, with Madhya. Baba was admitted to a private hospital in Sanawad a few days ago due to pneumonia. Despite his condition, he expressed a wish to return to his beloved Bhattyan Ashram under Kasrawad Tehsil, where he spent his final moments.

Siyaram Baba was a 94-year-old ascetic who had a deep spiritual connection and devotion to Lord Hanuman. He resided at the Bhatyan Ashram, located on the banks of the Narmada River in Khargone district. Baba led a life of simplicity and spiritual dedication which made him respected and popular among his followers.

According to various online reports, sevadars (volunteers) noted that Siyaram Baba accepted only ₹10 donations from devotees. These funds were used for the restoration of Narmada Ghats and the development of religious institutions and temples. Despite having limited formal education, Baba was deeply knowledgeable about Hindu scriptures and used to continuously recite the Ramcharitmanas in his community.

Although he had a great spiritual hold over many, Siyaram Baba's life had been sensationalised on social media and given room to a lot of myths regarding his age and origin. People popularly believed that was 188 years old and was found in a cave. But in fact, he was a popularly known saint and was also much respected among the local people.


Siyaram Baba was an epitome of an austere lifestyle. He hardly wore any clothes, and survived harsh weather conditions without any extra protection, and claimed that his years of meditation and spiritual practice had conditioned his body to bear adversities. He cooked and performed his daily works on his own, until his last day.
