The 14-2 Detroit Lions were to play against the 14-2 Minnesota Vikings on January 6, 2025. Whoever won got a bye week and home-field advantage along the length and breadth of the NFC playoffs. Whoever lost would have a score of 14-3, but the road to the playoffs would be walkable for them after going against a 10-7 or 9-8 team. Amon-Ra St. Brown wanted the Commissioner of the NFL, Roger Goodell, to change the NFL rules, and for that matter, he made his feelings known through the following statement:
“It’s crazy; I think the rule should be changed. Obviously, if you win the division, you should obviously make a playoff spot, but having a 14-win team having to go on the road is kind of crazy. But I guess I don't make the rules.”
Talking about the Minnesota Vikings, WR St. Brown said, “Hopeful we can get a win and get home-field advantage, but whatever happens, we both have a spot in the playoffs, so we might see each other again after this game.”
