Logan Paul made a jab at the Toronto Maple Leafs during Friday evening's SmackDown show in Toronto, ridiculing the team for their extended championship drought. Famous for his knack for creating controversy, Paul didn't spare any words as he goaded the home team in front of a sold-out crowd.
His remark was soon gaining momentum on social media, as @offside posted a clip of the exchange on Instagram. There were conflicting opinions from the fans, as some enjoyed the wit of his barb but others were less than impressed. Whether the response was positive or not, Paul once again showed his ability to capture attention and maintain interest, be it in the wrestling ring or on the internet.
Logan Paul made a jab at the Toronto Maple Leafs
At a WWE show at Scotiabank Arena on Friday evening, Logan Paul agitated the fans with a few stunts, including a shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs. Among the bravest of his moves was his entrance to "The Time Is Now," the legendary theme tune of WWE great
John Cena.
With Cena already embarking on a farewell tour while he makes his way out of professional wrestling into other entertainment ventures, fans were at first delighted to hear him sing. However, their anticipation soon turned to deafening boos when they saw it was Paul, and not Cena, entering the arena.
Paul didn’t stop there—he continued to rile up the audience by mocking WWE superstars Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins. As the two wrestlers exchanged heated words in the ring, Paul took the opportunity to taunt them, adding more fuel to the already intense atmosphere.
His antics kept the crowd engaged and reinforced his reputation as one of WWE’s most polarizing figures, proving once again that he thrives on generating strong reactions from fans. “You can’t win a championship… and neither can the Toronto Maple Leafs,” Paul told the other wrestlers, before another chorus of boos came down.
