Please see amendment to news in brief issued yesterday. The venues for Corsham Westbury and the South West Wiltshire Area Boards have been amended - please see below.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Wiltshire:

Wiltshire Council has resolved to support the concept of fair trade in the county as part of its wider commitment to social responsibility.  The resolution was made at a meeting of the full council on December 1.  

Wiltshire:

Wiltshire Council has formally adopted the registration of a county flag. The adopted flag was previously supported by Wiltshire County Council and shows a Great Bustard in gold with a green and white striped background. The bustard design has been marketed as the Wiltshire flag since 2007 and can be seen on-line at www.wiltshireflag.co.uk  

Durrington:

Durrington Leisure Centre will be closed on December 14 between 9am and 6pm for essential maintenance work. Wiltshire Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Devizes:

A public exhibition about future planning proposals will be held in the Yeoman Room at the Corn Exchange on December 7 between 1pm and 7pm. People will be able to give their views on where homes and land for jobs should be provided in the local area over the next 20 years. Chippenham, Trowbridge, Wootton Bassett and Malmesbury:

Visitors to the libraries at Chippenham, Trowbridge, Devizes and Wootton Bassett will be able view plans for where homes and land for jobs should be provided in the next 20 years. The plans for Malmesbury will be on display at the Activity Zone Leisure Centre. Exhibitions will be available from December 1 until December 31, 2009.

Marlborough:

People are invited to have their say on how Wiltshire Council should spend its budget at the Marlborough Area Board on December 7. The public meeting will be held at Marlborough Leisure Centre at 7pm with refreshments served from 6.30pm.

Amesbury:  

Options for the former Wilton Middle School site will be considered at the Amesbury Area Board on December 8. People are also invited to have their say on how Wiltshire Council should spend its budget at the public meeting to be held at the Bowman Centre at 7pm with refreshments served from 6.30pm.

Corsham:

People are invited to have their say on how Wiltshire Council should spend its budget at the Amesbury Area Board on December 8. The public meeting will be held at Corsham Town Hall at 7pm with refreshments served from 6.30pm.

Mere/Wilton/Tisbury:  

People are invited to have their say on how Wiltshire Council should spend its budget at the South West Wiltshire Area Board on December 9. The public meeting will be held at the Wilton Community Centre at 7pm with refreshments served from 6.30pm.

Westbury:

People are invited to have their say on how Wiltshire Council should spend its budget at the Westbury Area Board on December 10. The public meeting will be held at Matravers School at 7pm with refreshments served from 6.30pm.
