Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has been inundated with messages of encouragement as she shared her fitness journey on social media. The 53 year old actress, who has won over fans with her role as Cassandra Plummer in the ITV soap, has become a familiar face in the Dobbs household since her debut on the soap last year as fan-favourite Tyrone’s long-lost mum.
Yet in addition to her on-screen presence, off-screen, Claire is an active Instagram user, keeping her followers in the loop about all aspects of her personal life, including her day to day fitness routine to stay in shape. Posting about her latest early morning workout in the city before heading to Manchester for another day of filming on Coronation Street, Claire opened up about her struggle with motivation.
In a candid post shared on social media platform Instagram, the soap favourite showed off her slimmed down figure in a form fitting black ensemble complete with weighted vest as she explained: "Finding it really hard to motivate myself these days to exercise. But feel so much better when I do. I need to get into a routine, which is hard sometimes when work, life, laziness and hormones get in the way!”

Fans were loving the frank admission, with many praising the star for being so honest about her motivation while also praising her progress and commitment to her health.
“Every little helps Claire as long as you do something,” encouraged one fan before a second weighed in and added: “You look amazing Claire! It is hard to find motivation and stay motivated, that's so true, especially with a busy life. Don't be too hard on yourself.” A third fan also weighed in by cheekily writing: “Move in with Ricky, he will knacker you each day lol, hormones are absolutely s***!”
As well as fans there was also plenty of support on hand from her fellow celebrities, with This Morning’s Josie Gibson penning: “You look amazing!”
Her blossoming relationship with boxing icon Ricky Hatton has also caught the attention of fans, with Ricky showing his support for Claire's latest gym update by commenting: "You go girl. xxx", reports the Liverpool Echo, a sentiment that was also echoed by her Corrie co-star Sally Carman who said the exact same thing!”
Hollyoaks and EastEnders alumni Rita Simons also offered her support as she added: "@bruno_fernandescoach promised me he was gonna make u do the same workout he gave me just before! He destroyed me! Keep going doll face it’s so hard but so worth it.”
Earlier this week, Claire expressed her pride for Ricky as he jetted off to the US for his induction into the boxing hall of fame, sharing: "So proud of you darling.... what an honour and so deserved."
