John Terry celebrated a huge professional achievement with his wife Toni and their children.

The Chelsea icon was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening with his wife and children by his side. The former Chelsea and England defender posted a picture of the occasion, with the likeness of his children to their footballer father evident.

John made 717 appearances for Chelsea and scored 67 goals for the west London club. He was awarded the honour in a ceremony at Outernet in London alongside his former Chelsea teammate Ashley Cole and ex-Man United star Andy Cole. The trio of former professional footballers received medallions with the Premier League logo and their names engraved on them.

John enjoyed a 22-year career with Chelsea and commentated the occasion on Instagram. He captioned the post: "A very proud moment tonight being inducted into the @premierleague Hall Of Fame, made even more special having my family with me. @toniterry26 @georgie26terry @sum26terry."

The former professional footballer and his wife Toni welcomed their twin daughter and son in May 2006. They married a year later at Blenheim Palace in June 2007.

Toni previously revealed the couple struggle with fertility issues and revealed it took three years for her to fall pregnant after she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

She told Lorraine Kelly in 2018: "I got diagnosed with POS - polycystic ovary syndrome - and it was a big shock, I didn't have any symptoms.

"I just thought it wasn't happening. We then went down the course of IVI - which is slightly different to IVF - and we fell pregnant. But it was really tough. It took me three years to fall pregnant."

John made the headlines last year when he gifted his twins Georgie and Summer matching £40,000 Mercedes for their 17th birthday. He marked the occasion by sharing a sweet post showing off matching decorations, birthday cakes and two brand new luxurious cars.

The cars appeared to be the Mercedes A Class AMG Line Premium Plus, which cost around £41,000 new and the matte finish costs around £1,800 on top. John also showed off the twins' birthday decorations with two light-up number 17s surrounded by pink and blue balloons.

He sparked controversy by sharing two videos appearing to show his children behind the wheel of a moving car back when they were still children. In one clip, Georgie could be heard saying: "Dad I need help on this turning," to which a man thought to be the Chelsea icon was heard replying off-camera: "No you don't."

John captioned the birthday post: "Happy 17th Birthday @georgie26terry @sum26terry. We hope you have an amazing day, Mum & I wish you all the happiness and success in the world. We are so Proud of you both. We love you toooooooooooooooo much."

John and Toni's famous pals rushed to wish the twins a happy birthday as Holly Willoughby wrote: "I can't believe it!!! 17! Happy birthday," while Sam Faiers said: "Aww happy birthday, have a wonderful day celebrating." Footballer Chelsea footballer Cesc Fàbregas commented: "Happiest birthday to both of them."
