Bradley Walsh, host of The Chase, was left aghast at an off-colour remark, leaving one contestant with their head in their hands.

The popular ITV quiz show returned to our screens on Tuesday (May 7), with Bradley welcoming four new contestants: Jenny, Adrian, Michael and Dot, all vying for the coveted cash prize.

This week, they faced off against Darragh Ennis, also known as The Menace, who brought his top game to challenge the savvy quizzers. However, things took an unexpected turn when Darragh made a rather risque comment.

After contestant Jenny was eliminated from the show, it was Adrian's turn to face the Chaser. Adrian, a sign language interpreter, had successfully answered seven questions in his cash-builder round before going toe-to-toe with Darragh.

In a cheeky moment on the beloved ITV show, Darragh decided to have a bit of fun with host Bradley. He said to Adrian: "Now I would get you to sign some of Brad's jokes. But those kinds of hand signals aren't allowed on daytime TV," he joked.

Adrian chuckled: "Oh dear," while a shocked Bradley didn't know where to look, tapping his fingers on the podium. Becoming embarrassed, Dot, one of the players in the game, buried her face in her hands after The Chaser's comment. Bradley, trying to refocus the attention, said: "Right, put some money on the table."

Adrian, one of the players, managed to get through to the Final Chase with £7,000. Similarly, Michael, another player, made it through and added £6,000 to the prize pot. The final player, Dot, also advanced to the Final Chase with £5,000, bringing the total possible winnings to £18,000.

The Final Chase was certainly nerve-racking, with Adrian, Michael, and Dot answering 20 questions correctly within the time limit. All attention then shifted to Darragh who aimed to outperform the contestants.

Regrettably for the team, Darragh caught up with them when just a second was left on the clock, leaving them devastated. Viewers shared their reactions online, with one person on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, posting: "They deserved to win tbh." Another user echoed those sentiments, tweeting: "So close."
