BPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025: Apply for 1,711 Vacancies

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the recruitment of 1,711 Assistant Professor positions in medical colleges and hospitals across the state. These roles aim to enhance the teaching faculty in various departments under Bihar’s health services.

The online application process will start on April 8, 2025, and the last date of submission of the applications is May 7, 2025. Those who are eligible and interested candidates can apply through the official BPSC website: bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

BPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025: Department-Wise Vacancy Distribution

The recruitment covers 25 medical specialties. Anesthesiology has the highest number of openings with 125 posts, followed by Medicine and Gynecology & Obstetrics, each offering 120 vacancies. Pediatrics has 106 posts, while other departments include Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) with 56 vacancies, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) with 43, Radiology with 73, TB & Chest with 68, Radiotherapy with 76, and Emergency Medicine with 74 openings.

BPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor posts must hold one of the following qualifications in the relevant specialty: MD, MS, DNB, or MDS. Additionally, applicants must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience as a Senior Resident or Tutor in a recognized medical college or hospital. This teaching experience must be approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Candidates already serving in the Bihar Health Services cadre, who meet the required academic qualifications and teaching experience, are also eligible to apply.

BPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025: Selection Process

There will be no written exam for the recruitment. Selection will be made based on a merit list, prepared using the following criteria:

• Marks obtained in MBBS/BDS
• Marks in postgraduate qualifications (such as MD, MS, MDS, PhD, MCh, DNB in super specialities)
• Government work experience (up to 10 marks)
• Interview performance (up to 6 marks)
