This year Ram Navami will be celebrated on April 6. Every year on the ninth day of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, the birth anniversary of Lord Sri Ram is celebrated. We all know that lord Rama is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and he was born to King Dasharatha of Ayodhya on this day. Lord Rama is also fondly known as Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram. This day will also mark the last day of Chaitra Navratri. The festival of Ram Navami is all about celebrating the victory of righteousness over evil.
This year, the Navami tithi will begin on April 5, 7:27 PM and end on April 6, 7:24 PM. What makes the day even more special is that three rare yogas are being formed on this day, making the day even more special. The name of the yogas are Ravi Pushya yoga, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Sukarma yoga. As per astrology, the formation of these three yogas on Ram Navami makes the day even more auspicious. This is the day when people must follow rituals, observe fast or start auspicious works in their life.

The timing of the yogas are as follows:

Ravi Pushya yoga: From April 6, 6:18 AM to April 7, 6:17 AM
Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga: All day long
Sukarma Yoga: From wee hours of morning till 6:55 PM.

Rituals to worship Lord Rama on this day:

  • Wake up early, take bath and you can recite the Bal Kand section from the Ramcharitmanas
  • The practice of writing 'Shri Ram' on Tulsi leaves for 108 times is also likely to attract the grace of divine lord
  • One can also engage in some charity or donation work.
  • This is the day when devotees must take out time for self reflection and other spiritual practices.
