Jillian Lauren, the wife of the Weezer's bassist, Scott Shriner, was involved in a shootout with the police in Los Angeles and was shot in the process before being booked on charges of attempt to murder on Tuesday afternoon. The incident stemmed from a 'wild chase' between a suspect and the LAPD in hit-and-run case on a freeway through LA's Eagle Rock neighborhood.
The LAPD said that Lauren suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect evaded the scene of the hit-and-run and went to her house. When the police traced the suspect down, Lauren reportedly appeared with a gun. It is not clear if she fired any shots.

Lauren married Scott Shriner on November 9, 2005, in Hawaii. The couple has two adopted children. More On Her Confrontation With LAPD
After the incident, the suspects, which reportedly included Lauren, fled the scene of the hit-and-run on foot and ended up in a residential neighborhood. As per the LAPD, the suspect was stripped of some clothing to try and blend with the neighborhood and escape from the police officers chasing them.
Then, Lauren emerged from the house where the police traced the suspect down with a gun in hand. LAPD said that responding officers asked her to take the gun down multiple times, but she refused to do so. The police then fired and shot her in the shoulder.
She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 9-mm handgun was recovered from the residence. Lauren was booked for an attempt to murder.
